We are deeply saddened by the news of the sudden death of Donald Baechler. The American artist died of a heart attack in New York City the day before yesterday. In more than 40 years of his work, he created a work with a characteristic visual language: everyday objects and flowers, but also human figures are brought into focus in a supposedly naïve and symbolic way, often surrounded by a collage of pictures, newspaper clippings and similar found objects from pop culture.
