Dasha and Mari are twin sisters born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1985.
Their work fuses the traditions of fine art photography with vintage fashion chic to create a delicate blend of contemporary creativity. Their beautiful young models are photographed with a controlled extravagance and understated charm in a subtle blend of classic and modern aesthetics.
In the same way that a writer searches for the poetry & precision of language, they seek beauty through the balance & harmony of composition. Their stylish, cinematic works are reminiscent of the fashion photography of the past & there is a hint of the master provocateur Helmut Newton in some of their more challenging pieces.
