Ru de Boer (1920-2010)
Artist
Ceramist Ru de Boer started at the age of twenty-six, after a drawing course at the KAKB in Den Haar, at Potterij Zaalberg in Leiderdorp. About ten years later he decided to design objects at Ram himself and made his own collection of turning goods. Later, De Boer also worked as a teacher at, among others, the academy in Arnhem and Minerva in Groningen. After his retirement in 1985 he became active again as an autonomous designer and artist. He continued this work until 2002. From the 1970s, De Boer also played an important role within the Dutch Association of Keramists (NVK), where he was active in the secretariat, as an advisor and source of information.
