Wim Motz (1900-1977) legde tijdens zijn leven een enorme productiviteit aan de dag. Zijn werkdrift leidde hem van het impressionisme naar het expressionisme, van pure abstractie weer terug naar de herkenbare werkelijkheid. Zijn opstandige aard laat zich verraden in zijn werkwijze. Wim Motz, naast schilder ook graficus, zette zijn onderwerpen vol dynamiek en hartstocht op het doek en papier.
