The silkscreen print was made on the occasion of the official opening, on 3-11-1982, by Her Majesty the Queen of the new office building of the Bank voor Nederlandsche Gemeenten at Koninginnegracht 2 in The Hague. 1500 copies of this print were printed in 14 colours. They were then offered to the mayors by the BNG.
Sees Vlag (1934) was a graphic artist from The Hague, who became famous for his cityscapes of The Hague. He was a member of Pulchri Studio. Sees Vlag was born on 15 July in Gouda. He was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, where he was a graphic arts teacher from 1969 onwards. Techniques: mainly relief printing, linocut in colour, drawing techniques and silkscreens. Subjects: animals, industry, landscapes, cityscapes. Style: figurative and realistic.
