An ode to the fabulous landscapes of Jan van Goyen.
Top work by Marie Jose Robben. Very pasty and colorfully painted.
The oil paint is very thick on top, which gives it a material-like appearance. The light plays with the relief and makes it all dynamic. Signed on the back of the canvas.
The work is in top condition.
Robben studied at the academy of Den Bosch and Amsterdam, after which she followed a training at the 'École des beaux arts' in Paris. There she learned the technique of 'wet-on-wet' painting. She has mastered this technique down to the last detail, which keeps the colours very bright and unique.
Robben has exhibited in the Netherlands, Germany and France since 1987. In 2002 an exhibition of her work was organised in the Singer Museum in Laren. The accompanying text of the museum was as follows: 'For Marie-José Robben (Loon op Zand, 1959) the material of the paint plays an extremely important role. Her paintings are a plea for pure painting. Bright colours, placed against each other in thickly applied paint, determine the composition. Without using any form of figuration, the Dutch landscape or flowers are immediately recognisable in her paintings. The adventure of painting that speaks from the raging rhythm of the strokes and touches is infectious.'

In 2016 she had an exhibition in the museum 'De Fundatie' in Zwolle. She is also represented by various galleries, which also visit the Kunstrai and the PAN annually.
