Education as a regent in Germanic languages in Ghent, meanwhile artistic education at the Academy in Antwerp. Maintained close contacts with the Lier etcher Raymond De la Haye. Had his studio 'De Levensboom' for a while on the Sint-Nicolaasplaats in Antwerp. Gained fame mainly with his etchings, in which he captured picturesque old city districts, beguinages and church towers, and sang the praises of the Waasland, where he had lived since 1940.
