A very nice graphic by Jochen Kublik
JOCHEN KUBLIK (* 1962 -)
The painter and draftsman Jochen Kublik was born in Bottrop in 1962. He graduated from high school in Oelde / Westphalia and then studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Design in Münster. Study trips he undertook took him to Italy, especially to Tuscany. The Aldegrever Society in Münster awarded him a grant in 1988 to work in Oslo. Further grants followed. In 2000 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Applied Sciences for Design in Münster. In his work, Jochen Kublik combines realistic, detailed color drawings with surrealist motifs. Still life elements reminiscent of plant portraits from earlier eras form a synthesis with books or houses. Dream worlds between magic and poetry arise and stimulate the viewer to examine the representation in depth. Kublik can look back on a number of exhibitions, four books about his work have been published so far.
