- Born in 1959 and brought up in Bangalore, Jayakumar completed his diploma in Fine Arts from the Ken School of Art, Bangalore. Jayakumar went on to get his post diploma in Graphics from the Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU, Baroda. In 1983, he was awarded the Inlaks Foundation Scholarship to study his masters from the Royal College of Art, London. Ever since 1985, Jayakumar has taught at various prestigious establishments: The Falmouth School of Art, U.K., the Karnataka Lalit Kala Kendra Academy and the Kannada University, Hampi, where he was the Head of the Department of the Department of Visual Arts.
