Very special work by Hilda JELLINEK - GRÜNFELD (1904-1943). Hilda was born in the Czech Republic and married the Austrian Julian Grünfeld. Both died in Auschwitz.
Very rarely does anything by Hilda Jellinek come onto the market. This is a woodcut, signed lower right 'H. Jellinek'. Lower left is written in pencil 'Original Holzschnitt' and below that the title, the first word of which probably indicates a place that I cannot read: '....... am Abend'.
The work is in excellent condition and is in the presumably original wooden frame behind glass.
Dimensions work 20 x 15cm - frame 32 x 28cm.
