- Guus de Ruiter (naamvarianten: K.G. de Ruiter, Kornelis Guustaaf de Ruiter; signeerde als Guus de Ruiter) werd op 24 april 1924 in Rotterdam geboren en overleed daar ook op 22 december 2000.
Guus volgde een kunstzinnige opleiding aan de Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Rotterdam. Hij was onder andere grafisch leerling bij Wally Elenbaas (ons huis / “Het Venster’) en was ook leerling / èn gast bij het kunstenaarsechtpaar Bob Gesinus Visser in Menton. Op latere leeftijd werd hij onder ander de leraar van Heleen Dekker, Cor Gardien en Montebasso.
Guus was als kunstenaar naast aquarellist ook actief als beeldhouwer, graficus, (wand)schilder en tekenaar.
Zijn favoriete onderwerpen waren figuurvoorstellingen, landschappen, portretten, stadsgezichten en stillevens. Hij werkte zowel met waterverf als met beton. Daarnaast was hij actief als decor- en kostuumontwerper.
De Ruiter was lid van De Venstergroep, van de Vereniging van Beoefenaren van Monumentale Kunsten (VBMK), van Arti et Amicitae in Amsterdam en van Pulchri Studio in Den Haag.
