After his training as a metalworker, he founded his studio in 1931 (Emmastraat 28/30 Schiedam). He specialized in working tin. He used geometric shapes that he based on the style of the Amsterdam School. He often used the Reuleaux triangle in which a figure is formed by the intersection of three circles, each with its center at an intersection of the other two. The Reuleaux triangle is named after the 19th-century German engineer Franz Reuleaux. The studio existed until 1944. He died in Rotterdam on January 16, 1946.
