Beautiful oil painting on wood panel by Christophe van der Windt. I don't know when it was painted, but based on the wood panel used, I would assume it was in the first half of the 20th century. The painting shows a view of water, houses and a cloudy sky, very atmospheric.
The painting is in fairly good condition, but it would definitely need cleaning. When the light is strong (as can be seen in the photos), the colors really shine, otherwise it looks a bit dark.
The wooden board has a few holes on the back, which could possibly be the result of a previous woodworm infestation. However, I did not notice that there was an active woodworm in the board.
The picture is unframed because I removed the existing frame because it did not fit the picture well and the plasterwork is now damaged. You can have the frame on request if you have bought the picture at auction, but the shipping costs may then increase.
