Cees Landsaat made his debut at Galerie Liernur in The Hague, after which many exhibitions followed. The series of colour etchings are notable for their playfulness and remarkable use of colour, sometimes excessive, then again limited and supportive. The artist's fantasy is unbridled and sometimes his technical ability in graphic work seems limitless. In a later period, he distanced himself more from graphic work and limited himself to painting. Cees Landsaat designed many decor and costumes for his partner Ad de Bont's theatre work.
