Arkadiy Kurta was born in Ukraine in 1977 and graduated from the Kiev School of Photography in 2007.
With each click of his shutter, Kurta breaks from tradition, giving us a glimpse of how women play with ideas of desire, freedom, and sexual provocation. His photos deviate from everyday norms, allowing us to view the world through the eyes of a bold and dedicated artist.
What Kurta’s art reveals most is that a compelling photograph is one that exposes both the body and the soul. His photos challenge the uneasy balance between the beauty of the female body and the anger its depiction provokes among the apostles of ‘political correctness.’
