Anton Heyboer (1924 – 2005) Education: Anton receives a technical education as a mechanical engineer and also learns welding and bench work. He also becomes a drilling foreman. Lived and worked in the Netherlands. The experiences that Anton Heyboer gained in the labor camp were of great importance for the development of his artistry. Heyboer taught himself etching and shamelessly made kitsch to earn a living. When the war ended, he left his parents' house and goes to Drenthe, lives a few months in the South of France and in 1951 has himself locked up in the psychiatric hospital in Santpoort. He stays there for a few months. Anton Heyboer's turbulent lifestyle is expressed in a number of marriages. In 1961 he goes to live on a farm live in Den Ilp, and from that moment on Heyboer's fame only grows. Over the years the number of brides of the graphic artist increases to five: Petra, Lotti, Joke, Marike and Maria, in random order of marriage.
