Baldin Ahmad (1954, Iraq) - A Kurdish Iraqi artist, he began his studies at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad, continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, and obtained his PhD in Modern Art (DAMS) from the University of Bologna, Italy. A highlight of his career was his 1986 exhibition with fellow countrymen at the prestigious Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara, Italy, where his paintings and sculptures were inscribed with messages of freedom against the oppression of the Iraqi regime, especially against the Kurds. His work was shown at the Venice Biennale in 2009 and 2011. You may want to travel without hesitation to the provinces and cities he paints. These are places with a warm human environment, whether it is day or night, rain or shine. He admits that such places do not exist, because he calls them imaginary, perhaps a homeland free from oppression
Baldin Ahmad is a Kurd, born in Iraq, his painting knows no hesitations. He was educated in Baghdad, Florence and Rome and he graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad, Iraq and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. He also holds a PhD in Modern Art (DAMS) from the University of Bologna, Italy. He has been working in the Netherlands since around 1990. Form and content tell the same story.
