Education:

Roy Lichtenstein was educated at the Art Students League in New York and the Ohio State University in Columbus.

Roy Lichtenstein is one of the most important representatives of American pop art. He is known for his work with the style elements of advertising, which became increasingly dominant in American post-war culture, and with magnified grid dots, derived from the offset print. Lichtenstein also made extensive use of the visual language of comic strips, with bright colours, speech bubbles, thick outlines, etc. Roy Lichtenstein has become world famous for his innovative way of working and is one of the most important American artists of the 20th century.

Exhibitions and prizes:

Roy Lichtenstein has exhibited from 1962 in the Leo Castelli gallery in New York, which actually meant his real breakthrough. Roy Lichtenstein's work can be found in many museum collections around the world and his sculptures can also be admired in many world cities.
