Georg Rueter received his education at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam, among others from August Alleb_. He excelled in drawing and painting portraits and flower still lifes and was one of the leading painters in our country at the beginning of this century, as were Breitner, Gestel, Maks and Sluijters, among others. Rueter also worked as a glass painter, known for his windows of the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft and the Pieterskerk in Leiden. He also designed ex-libris, stamps, and book covers. Museums: including Museum Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam and Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem.
