David SCHNEUER (Przemist 1905 - Tel Aviv 1988)
Moved to Munich with his parents at a young age. Education: Kunstgewerbeschule in Berlin In Paris he was influenced by Toulouse Lautrec and many other French artists.
In 1933, he was sent to Dachau concentration camp because of his Jewish background and alleged communist sympathies. After his release a year later, he settled in Tel Aviv, where he remained for the rest of his life.
The leitmotif in his work has always remained human. David Schneuer's work has been exhibited all over the world: in London, Tokyo, Paris, Jaffa, Vienna, etc. etc. Schneuer's work is included in the collections of the Boston Museum, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Israel Museum Jerusalem and the Skerball Museum in Los Angeles.
